The Hindustan Times’ Rohit Vats liked the chemistry between the two leads and the way the characters rise above the boundaries of caste and creed but faulted the clogged screenplay and the influx of actors who talk in many dialects. Released by Reliance Entertainment on 700 screens in India, the film had mixed reviews. The website becomes a big business but complications arise when Ram falls in love with high-spirited Punjabi girl Nimmi (Pannu). Produced by Shoojit Sircar and Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures, Running Shaadi stars Sadh as Ram, a young immigrant from Bihari who, with his teenage friend Cyberjeet (Bajwa), launches a website to help young couples elope. Deccan Chronicle’s Suresh Kavirayani judged the film stands on par with many Hollywood films of wars at sea, Daggubati gives the best performance of his career and Kulkarni again shows his class. The Times of India’s Renuka Vyavahare said the riveting story will keep viewers on the edge of their seats and inspire awe for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country. Kulkarni is executive officer Devraj, who tries to keep the peace between the officers and Taapsee Pannu is a Bangladeshi refugee who is rescued by the S21. Tensions flare between Varma, who is under orders to avoid provoking a war, and the hot-headed Captain Ranvijay Singh (Kay Kay Menon), who wants to torpedo the Pakistani submarine Ghazi before it destroys the aircraft-carrier Vikrant. The thriller follows the Indian Navy's submarine S21 under the command of Lieutenant-Commander Arjun Varma (Daggubati) as it is dispatched on a secret mission. The Ghazi Attack minted roughly $420,000 on 93 screens, trouncing the rom-com's $11,100 on 57 screens and the eco-thriller's $13,400 on 27, according to Movie City News.ĬomScore reported the war movie, which recounts the mysterious sinking of a Pakistani submarine during the war with India in 1971, mustered $38,000 on 18 screens in Australia, where Irada took just $1,000 on eight screens.
